Droidex browser extension

Open ChatGPT or Claude as usual, click the Droidex button, and the chat appears in your vault for review. You stay signed in to your AI on its own website — Droidex never sees your AI password, and nothing passes through any server.

Latest version: 0.1.4. The Droidex popup shows the version that is actually loaded — if it shows an older number, remove Droidex in your extensions page and load the newly extracted folder again.

Store versions for Chrome, Edge and Firefox come after store review. Until then, install it manually:

  1. 1. Where the file is saved

    It goes to your Downloads folder: C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\droidex-extension.zip

    Open File Explorer and click Downloads in the left sidebar. Can't see it? Press Ctrl + J in the browser to open its download list, then click Show in folder.

  2. 2. Extract it

    Right-click droidex-extension.zip → Extract All… → leave the suggested name as it is → Extract.

    You now have a folder named droidex-extension containing manifest.json.

    If a blue "Windows protected your PC" box appears, choose More info → Keep. It appears because this is a test build, not yet signed by the store.

  3. 3. Add it to Chrome or Edge

    Open a new tab, type chrome://extensions (Edge: edge://extensions) and press Enter.

    Turn on Developer mode (top right), then click Load unpacked.

    In the window that opens: click Downloads, click the droidex-extension folder once to highlight it, then click Select Folder.

  4. 4. Check it worked

    Droidex appears in the list marked Unpacked. Pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon in the address bar → the pin icon next to Droidex.

The folder you choose must contain manifest.json. Picking the .zip file, or the Downloads folder itself, is the usual reason Chrome refuses to load it.

Leave the folder where it is — Chrome reads the extension from that spot every time it starts, so moving or deleting it breaks the extension. Downloaded a newer copy? Extract it again, then click the reload arrow on the Droidex card at chrome://extensions.

    Open chrome://extensions (Edge: edge://extensions), make sure Droidex is switched on, then reload this page.

  2. 2. It can save a real chat

    Unlock your vault and keep that Droidex tab open. Then open any ChatGPT or Claude conversation and click the Droidex icon → Save this chat.

How to save a chat

  1. Unlock your vault in Droidex and keep that tab open.
  2. Open a chat on ChatGPT or Claude and click the Droidex icon → Save this chat.
  3. Droidex opens Import with the chat ready. Review and confirm — only then is it encrypted and saved.

What it can and cannot do

  • Reads only the chat page you clicked on, only when you click.
  • Never reads passwords, cookies, other tabs or your browsing history.
  • Keeps nothing itself; an unclaimed chat is discarded after 10 minutes or when the browser closes.
  • If an AI changes its website, it saves nothing and tells you. Paste and file import still work.

Stay updated

Get occasional news about Droidex launch and releases. Only your email address is stored — never anything from your vault.
